Who we are

A minimalist interior scene with a wooden table, a beige modern chair, and a pinkish sofa. A small vase with a single flower sits on the table. The background features a lightly striped wall.

Cura specializes in concierge recovery for eating disorders. Our practice is built around a simple belief: healing happens in the places where life is lived. Traditional treatment often asks individuals to step into clinical environments and adapt to systems that may not reflect the realities of their daily lives. Cura takes a different approach.

We meet you where you are, both physically and emotionally. We offer personalized support within the spaces that shape everyday experiences with food.

Our role in home coaching and real world experiences, brings us to stand beside you in kitchens, grocery stores, and restaurants. We help transform moments that once felt overwhelming into opportunities for confidence and growth.

We believe recovery is something that can unfold gently, in your world, one step at a time. Each experience is thoughtfully tailored, honoring the vulnerability and courage that recovery requires.

To recover with Cura is to care, and to be cared for.

Dr. Sarah Chipps, PSYD, CEDS

Dr. Sarah Chipps is the co-founder and director of Cura. She is a New York State licensed psychologist (license #020206) and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Supervisor (CEDS-C). She received her master's and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. Since 2008, she has had the privilege to work with people with diverse identities and histories, in a variety of settings. Prior to opening a full-time group practice, she was clinical director at Monte Nido's residential program for women with eating disorders in Irvington, NY. Dr. Chipps specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, substance abuse, and trauma. She is a regular presenter at conferences on topics such as ethnic diversity, the client/therapist relationship, and creativity in the treatment of eating disorders. Her own recovery from an eating disorder and substance dependence gives Sarah an inside perspective that helps her both support and challenge clients. Using an integrative approach, Sarah tailors treatment to each client's unique needs and history. Modalities included in your treatment may include psychodynamic therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Somatic Experiencing ® , and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy).

Greta Gleissner, LCSW, CEDS

Greta Gleissner, MSW, LCSW, CEDS is the co-founder and Managing Director of Cura. As a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, her work is driven by a profound life mission. Greta’s career grew out of her own recovery from eating disorders and healing from complex trauma—providing her with a unique, deeply empathetic lens through which she supports and treats her clients. Having been a professional dancer, Greta knew from the age of 16 that if she could heal, she would dedicate her life to helping others do the same. Shortly after graduating from New York University with her Master of Social Work, she published her first book, Something Spectacular: The True Story of a Rockette’s Battle with Bulimia—a raw, personal chronicle of her time as a Radio City Rockette and the devastating effects of the illness. Greta maintains a small private practice in Midtown Manhattan and has extensive experience operating across the multiple levels of care, including Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Outpatient (OP) settings. Specializing in eating disorders, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, she is highly trained in advanced, evidence-based modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), and Motivational Interviewing.
